Colour Families For Designers

One little tool I use when designing various material for print or on websites is the colour wheel.

There’s a number of colour wheels out there, all or most are similar but this is the one I use. You can select your base colour, then adjust the parameters within the functional website to create a nice family of colours to use. I generally use the complementary setting the most for material but the compound and triad settings are useful for websites.
Underneath you will see the RGB or HEX code which can be used the CSS of your web code or in Photoshop to use this advised colour.
This is the best way I find to find colours which ‘match’ or ‘balance’ when creating material. For any other designers out there, keep this page bookmarked as it will really help.
